Are You Always on Edge?
Do you toss and turn at night, repeatedly reviewing your to-do list in your mind and panicking over the thought of never getting it all done? Overcome by dread, you can feel the waves of panic flood through you.
Suddenly your heart is racing, you feel dizzy, and you can’t catch your breath.
Chronic anxiety is debilitating and can make you feel powerless in your own life. The constant adrenaline rush makes you you sick.
Worry and panic sap your energy and strength to deal with even daily responsibilities. The edginess makes you irritable and you find yourself snapping at everyone around you.
Perhaps you are plagued with aches, pains, stiffness, and tension; you just never feel well. Or maybe you have multiple fears or phobias- of small spaces, animals, flying, heights, crowds, or of being ill. Whether you experience specific fears or general anxiety, the worry depletes your resources and makes it impossible to let go and just relax.

You Are Not Alone
Maybe you have been living with constant fear or worry since you were a child. Or, maybe you have always cruised along, so used to the ever-present sense of tension, that you have not recognized the damage it is doing to you and your life, until now.
Perhaps the intensity of your anxiety did not start until you became burdened by more and more responsibilities and bigger shoes to fill as a spouse, parent, employee, friend, or daughter. Whichever the case, you are not alone.
At Connections Child and Family Center, we understand the toll anxiety can take on your well-being, and we are here to offer support and effective anxiety therapy to help you feel in control of your life. Our experienced therapists specialize in working win evidence-based treatments for anxiety and can help you move from catastrophe to content.

Anxiety in Women
In general, women are diagnosed with anxiety disorders twice as often as men. Women’s anxiety is often related to the fact that they are required to wear many different “hats” and take on overwhelming responsibilities that men do not. Women are also more sensitive to relationship stress than men.
We know how hard it can be to do something for yourself, but you are just as important as everyone else you care for. Reach out for an appointment, and take care of you. You deserve to feel happy and calm.
Anxiety in Men
If you find yourself struggling with paralyzing stress and anxiety, but hesitate to seek, you are not alone. It is common for men to experience anxiety, but avoid getting help because they feel they should be able to “handle it” on their own. Getting support does not make you weak, but rather courageous and strong.
Signs of anxiety in men can include physical problems, feeling moody, or on edge, and withdrawing from social situations or activities you used to enjoy. It can also lead to alcohol or drug use to feel in control of the stress, maybe drinking or using more than you feel good about. You might also find yourself taking risks or being reckless to avoid those tough feelings of anxiety.
At Connections Child and Family Center, we get the challenges our society places on men that make it hard to open up about your feelings. We are here to provide a confidential and supportive environment where you can explore anxiety without judgment.

How We Can Help
Change Anxious Thoughts
Using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an effective form of therapy for anxiety, we help you identify negative thought patterns and behaviors. Through anxiety treatment, we will help you learn to talk positively to yourself and halt constant “what-if” thinking. Through our sessions, you will be able to change your anxious viewpoint and see even difficult situations as manageable.
Manage Stress
Anxiety treatment at Connections Child and Family Center is tailored to your unique needs. In our approach to anxiety treatment, we focus heavily on helping adults learn stress management techniques and practice ways to reduce feelings of agitation or tension. You may learn how deep breathing, mindfulness exercises, self-hypnosis, or even yoga can help you relax. We will help you learn to tolerate the discomfort of anxiety and lower the discomfort with coping tools. You will create a personal plan for regular self-care to manage stress.
Sleep Peacefully
Persistent anxiety can disrupt sleep patterns and lead to chronic sleep deprivation. Anxiety Therapy will help you learn strategies to calm your body and quiet your mind, promoting better sleep quality. Fall asleep quickly, sleep deeply and wake rested to embrace a new day.
Be Mindful
Learn to stay present and grounded in the present to reduce worry. We teach mindfulness and relaxation exercises that you can integrate into your daily life to manage anxiety more effectively.
Exposure Therapy
For specific phobias and anxieties, exposure therapy can be beneficial. We will support you to gradually face fears in a safe environment, reducing their impact over time.
Supportive Group Therapy
Participating in group therapy can provide a sense of community and understanding among individuals facing similar challenges. Our supportive group sessions offer a space to share experiences, learn from others, and offer mutual support.
