Who I Support

I work with adults and young adults, and especially with women, who are carrying more than they let on. Anxiety that hums all day. A low mood that will not lift. People-pleasing that has quietly taken over your relationships. A big life change, a hard family of origin, or an identity question you have not said out loud yet.

Many of my clients are the person everyone else leans on. They are good at holding it together and not so good at asking for help. If alcohol or substances have become part of how you cope with the anxiety or the low mood, we can work on that too, without it becoming the only thing we talk about.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with specialized training in LGBTQ+ affirming care. If that is part of your story, you will not need to explain the basics.

How I Work

I do not run sessions from a script. We start with what is actually happening this week, then trace it back: where did this pattern come from, who taught it to you, and what is it still protecting you from? Most people find that the anxiety, the over-functioning, and the trouble saying no all trace back to the same few places.

From there the work gets practical. Skills for the moments when your chest tightens. Language for the boundary you keep rehearsing and never setting. A steadier relationship with the version of you who is doing her best and still feels like it is not enough. Depending on what you need, I draw on ACT, CBT, DBT skills, motivational interviewing, or EMDR for the memories your body has not filed away yet.

I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Houston in 2018 and have spent my career working with anxiety, trauma, substance use, and life transitions. I am also certified in perinatal mental health, so if you are a parent, that part of your life is welcome in the room. I see clients by telehealth across Texas.

Outside the Office

Two small boys run my household, so most of my free time is spent on the floor with them. When I get a quiet hour it goes to a quilt, a knitting project, or a cross-stitch that has been half done since spring. My husband and I collect new breweries, we count down to the Texas Renaissance Festival every year, and I will defend board games as real self-care to anyone who asks.
