Working with Children & Families
My name is Katy and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate that has a strong passion in working with kids and their families, espcially those in the neurodivergent community. More times than not, life does not always go as planned. As a parent myself, I can relate to the sudden shift in what we envision for our children, and how that may affect the family as a whole. I have an interest in helping kids with emotional regulation, social skills, executive functioning skills, anxiety and depression.
I believe when working with kids, the involvement of the family unit is crucial in obtaining a more harmonious home life. My practice focuses on assisting children and their families in promoting psychoeducation, communication skills, and a safe space that they are able to process any emotions that may come with the weight of a diagnosis. My goal is when clients leave therapy, they feel that they are not alone and that they have helpful tools to help them navigate life.
