Who I Support

I work with teens, young adults, and adults who have been through hard things and are still carrying them. Sometimes that is one event. More often it is a pattern: the way you learned to cope, the beliefs about yourself that got baked in early, the reactions that fire before you have a chance to think.

Many of my clients are women and teenage girls who have overcome real adversity and are ready to stop white-knuckling it. I also see parents whose own history is getting stirred up now that they are raising kids, and teens dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-harm, or thoughts of not wanting to be here. Before private practice I worked as a behavioral health clinician in an adolescent intensive outpatient program at Texas Children’s Hospital, so higher-acuity teens do not scare me.

How I Work

I am a licensed clinical social worker and EMDR-trained, currently working toward certification. EMDR is a structured, well-researched treatment for trauma that helps your brain finish processing memories that got stuck. It does not require you to retell every detail, and for the memories that still make your body react, it often moves faster than talk therapy alone.

EMDR is one tool, not the whole kit. A lot of what we do is attachment-based: looking at the early relationships that taught you how to protect yourself, and giving that protective armor credit before we ask you to set any of it down. Depending on what you need, we might also use CBT, DBT skills, ACT, or art-based approaches. You are the expert in your life. My job is to bring the tools and keep the pace honest.

My career has taken me from community agencies to a hospital IOP to private practice, with clients from grade school to retirement. The main thing all of that taught me is that healing does not follow one script. I see clients by telehealth across Texas.
