Meet Kamaya

Working with young children and their families

Watching your child struggle with big emotions or challenging behaviors can feel overwhelming. Maybe your child has frequent meltdowns, seems unusually anxious or fearful, acts out aggressively, or withdraws from activities they used to enjoy. You might worry about how to help, feel frustrated by constant defiance, or feel unsure how to respond in a way that actually supports them.

I work with children and their families to address these struggles in a compassionate, practical way. Using play, creative tools, and evidence-based strategies, I help children build emotional awareness, coping skills, and healthy ways to express themselves. I also guide parents in responding with confidence and consistency, strengthening the parent–child bond and creating routines that reduce stress at home. After working together, families may notice calmer, more confident children who can manage big feelings, improved communication and cooperation at home, and a stronger, more connected relationship between parent and child.

Working with couples

Every relationship hits rough patches—but sometimes it feels like every conversation turns into an argument, or worse, complete silence. You might feel more like roommates than partners, stuck in the same fight over and over, or wondering where the closeness went. Maybe trust has been broken, or stress from work, parenting, or finances has left you feeling disconnected and alone in your relationship.

I help couples untangle these painful patterns and find their way back to each other. In our sessions, you’ll learn how to communicate without fighting, rebuild trust, and create real emotional and physical closeness again. I guide couples in understanding what’s underneath the arguments, giving you practical tools to solve problems and feel like a team. When our work is complete, you’ll may feel more connected and supported—able to handle disagreements without tearing each other down, enjoy laughter and affection again, and know you’re on the same side no matter what life throws at you

Working In Perinatal Health

Motherhood isn’t always the picture-perfect moment we expect. Maybe you’re exhausted but can’t sleep, worried about your baby all the time, or wondering why you don’t feel as happy as you thought you would. You might feel guilty for not ‘loving every minute’ or find yourself snapping at the people you care about. Some days it feels like you’re holding everything together with a thread.

You’re not broken, and you’re not alone. I help moms through pregnancy and those early months when everything feels overwhelming. Together, we’ll figure out what’s really going on, take the pressure off, and give you tools that actually work in real life—not just on paper. At the end of our work you may feel calmer, more confident, and more like yourself again, while also making room for rest, joy, and real connection with your baby.

I started my journey working with young children in the classroom, and I loved being part of their early development. I noticed, though, that some challenges went beyond what I could support as a teacher in the classroom, which inspired me to study childhood mental health. As I learned to support children and families, I discovered a passion for supporting other relational dynamics. I’m grateful for this path and excited to help all my clients thrive.

Outside the Office

Originally from Minnesota, I’ve really enjoyed making Texas home. I’ve developed a love for yoga and enjoy exploring all kinds of crafts—though I’d call myself more of a craft hopper than a master! I love going for walks and playtime with my dog, baking and trying new recipes (especially fall-inspired ones), and spending quality time with my family.
