Meet Hannah

My Goals for You

Hello there! I’m Hannah McDonald, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate. My passion is helping children, teens, and families navigate through life’s ups and downs. I am excited for you to take this step towards counseling. We want to make a safe place where you can grow and heal. By looking at family dynamics, I aim to help you build better relationships and feel more confident. Our goal is to help you lead a happier life by understanding your challenges and reaching your goals. I’m excited to meet you and help you along the way!

Working With Children & Teenagers

During my training, I found that I really enjoyed working with kids and teens going through difficult times. My specialty is empowering kids and teens by equipping them with valuable coping techniques and skills. In our therapy sessions together, I often use engaging activities and solution-focused skills. My goal is to help young clients build up their own “toolbox” full of strategies for managing anxiety, anger, depressive moods, and other stressors they may face. When we complete our work together, I aim for my clients to walk away feeling more resilient and positive about tackling future challenges. If you feel I could be a good fit to help your child or teen develop healthy coping skills in a supportive environment, I warmly invite you to reach out. I would be honored to join you on this journey toward healing and personal growth.

Working with Couples & Families

I strive to support families and couples in their desire to process their challenges through empowerment and guidance to have a positive change. I strive to help families connect, communicate, and relate within the therapy room. I am here to support you and your family. Being in a relationship can be difficult, I am there to help navigate challenges that arise with your partner, strengthen communication between one another, and create a safe space where couples can explore thoughts, feelings, and concerns openly and honestly. Whether you are newly couples, or questioning your relationship, I can help. Let’s navigate this journey together!

How I Got Here

My journey to becoming a therapist evolved through my passions and aspirations, rooted in the desire to help others. Initially, I felt drawn to the field of nursing, captivated by the ability to directly care for individuals in need and to make a difference in their lives. However, I dove deeper into my studies and explored various avenues of helping professions. I discovered an understanding for the therapeutic process and the impact it can have on individuals’ well-being. Through my academic studies, I found a love for making meaningful differences in the lives of children, individuals, couples, and families. I am passionate in helping my clients navigate difficult times, build stronger connections between one another, and creating healthier patterns within a family. Ultimately, my decision to become a therapist was fueled by a deep passion for helping others navigate life challenges, fostering resilience, and empower individuals to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives.

Outside the Office

Out of the office, I enjoy an array of activities. I love spending quality time with my fiancé; whether it’s taking walks in the park near our home, or simply enjoying each other’s company at home, every moment with him is cherished. My furry companion, my English bulldog Belle, is also a huge part of my life. We love exploring nature trails, playing at her favorite dog parks, or simply cuddling up together with her favorite toys after a long time are moments I treasure. My friends and family hold a special place in my heart. I prioritize time with them whenever I can, whether it’s trying new coffee shops or celebrating special occasions, the bonds we share are priceless.
