You’re Overwhelmed

This wasn’t how you pictured it would be. No one seems to get it when you talk about your problems.

I am passionate about restoring hope to others, and reminding you that you matter, and acknowledging that what you’re going through is real and valid. After our work, my clients feel empowered and confident in themselves. My practice focuses on celebrating every win, every baby step, and every moment of empowerment.

My credentials include a Master’s degree in Family Therapy from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, and an associate license to practice Marriage and Family Therapy. I also have a background with training in Applied Behavior Analysis, working with children on the Autism Spectrum. In addition to this, I have experience providing workshops and trainings, as well as participating in a panel discussion, for organizations to teach parents and teachers about the importance of their impact on a child’s growth.

I am particularly passionate about working with underrepresented populations, such as families of children with special needs/individuals with disabilities, and other minority groups.

Why Did I Become a Therapist?

When asked “why did you become a therapist?” I respond with the following story: One week before I was born, my mother lost her uncle to HIV/AIDS. When I arrived, she gave me the middle name Hope because she felt my birth helped restore a sense of hope to our family during a very difficult time. I’ve carried that meaning with me ever since. I’ve always believed that part of my purpose is to bring hope to others, and I’ve intentionally shaped my career path around that core value.

In addition to this, when I was 13, I lost my father while he was serving over seas in Afghanistan. Through this trauma, I received counseling and support, and I have always wanted to repay this kindness that was shown to me, by sharing hope and compassion with others. Outside of the office, I am a dog mom and a big sister to three younger siblings, as well as an auntie to a very smart 3 year old. My family are my life!

Outside The Office

I have several hobbies that bring me joy and help me stay balanced. One of my favorite pastimes is exploring the culinary scene by going out to eat and trying new restaurants. Gaming is another passion of mine that spans across Nintendo, PlayStation, and PC platforms. I also love traveling to new places, as exploring different destinations helps broaden my perspective and creates lasting memories. Finally, spending quality family time keeps me grounded and strengthens the important relationships that matter most to me.
