How We Can Help

Thorough Evaluation

We value a thorough eating disorder evaluation to understand each individual’s unique needs and challenges. Our team of experienced therapists and registered dietitians will conduct a comprehensive evaluation to gain insight into the underlying factors contributing to the individual’s eating disorder.

This assessment will serve as the foundation for creating a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific goals and needs.

The assessment includes an in-person evaluation addressing beliefs, behaviors, and mental health concerns including screens for depression, anxiety and trauma.

We also include a full nutritional assessment, including medical labs. The assessment will be based on your reported information, our in-person interview/evaluations, and some standardized tests to get a complete picture of your experience.

We provide a provisional diagnosis as well as recommendations which we review in feedback sessions.

Eating Disorder Therapy

Our eating disorder therapy services provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals to explore their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors related to the eating disorder.

Our team of licensed therapists specializes in applying two of the most proven evidence-based therapies when treating clients with eating disorders: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

These therapeutic modalities help individuals develop understanding and insight, create healthier coping mechanisms, challenge distorted beliefs about food and body image, and improve their overall well-being.

If a client requires more than weekly sessions and/or groups at our facility, we will facilitate and support you and your family in assessing or admitting to a higher level of care for more support.

DBT and Body Image Groups

In addition to individual therapy, we offer specialized classes and groups that use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to address eating behaviors, beliefs, and body image. The DBT classes provide individuals with skills to manage difficult emotions, enhance interpersonal relationships, and cultivate mindfulness.

Our body image groups create a supportive space to challenge societal pressures of the “Thin Ideal,” promote whole self-acceptance, and develop a healthy relationship with one’s body.

Nutrition Counseling

Proper nutrition plays a crucial role in the eating disorder recovery process. Our registered dietitians work closely with individuals and families to develop or maintain a personalized meal plan that supports appropriate nutritional needs while addressing any specific concerns related to the eating disorder.

Through ongoing counseling and education related to nutrition, movement, and sleep, our dietitians strive to empower individuals to make informed choices and establish a healthier relationship with food, movement, and rest.

Family-Centered Therapy

We recognize an eating disorder diagnosis impacts not only the individual but also their loved ones. Family-centered therapy is a vital component of our program, for both adolescents and adults, to help family members reinforce health and balance through the treatment and recovery process.

Through family therapy sessions, classes, or nutritional groups, we aim to enhance communication, foster understanding, and strengthen support systems. This aligns with our values and motto, “to improve communication, increase connections, and heal relationships within families.”
