Working with Children & Families
I enjoy working with children and their parents. Parents typically come to me feeling worried, helpless, or confused by their child’s behavior and unsure how to support them. Using a developmental and relational lens, I work with both the child and the parent. We work to understand what influenced and shaped a given behavior and the impact of those behaviors within the family system.
My hope is to give parentools and the structure needed to support a healthy family. When working with children and parents, I use a combination of behavioral strategies and parent management tools.
Working with Adolescents and Young Adults
I am passionate about working with adolescents and adults looking to heal from difficult, scary or stressful events in the distant or recent past. I also support work with any other issues including identity, adjustment to life changes or stressors, grief, anxiety, sadness, relationships, and stress due to work/school.
My hope for our work together is that you will feel safe and heard as we process difficult memories and events. Ultimately, the goal is for you to feel empowered with a better understanding of yourself, the values you wish to live by going forward, and the tools you can use along the way.
Outside the Office
Although I’ve been known to burn a meal or two, I enjoy cooking, especially when it’s spent with family and friends. I also enjoy spending time outside, gardening. When I have the privilege to travel I enjoy exploring new places and cultures because I believe there is always something valuable to learn through someone else’s perspective.
