Kasie Ennis, LPC

Working with Women & College-aged Adults

I am passionate about walking alongside women who struggle with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and trauma. I will work closely with you to provide a safe and supportive environment as you begin to tend to parts of yourself that feel difficult. I will help you feel more connected to yourself and confident in managing your stressors and challenges.

Life changes, career demands, family dynamics, and relationships are a few of the many areas in our lives that can be both a source of joy and pain. I will help you to understand how these areas are impacting you daily and empower you to learn how to find balance in the chaos. I believe our early experiences inform how we operate in relationships and respond to our world. Sometimes our old ways of handling struggles no longer serve us. We will work together to find new ways to cope and thrive!

I approach therapy holistically; we look at the connections between mind, body, and your environment. Our work will challenge you to discover and develop your personal strengths. I will guide you through grounding exercises to help you get centered in your body, in the moment. We will challenge your unhelpful thoughts and beliefs. You will become crystal clear on your personal values and your boundaries, or limits. You will learn to trust your intuition, both body and mind. You will find that each day you are able to be more present in your life and live intentionally within your own values.

After our work, my clients feel more confident and connected to themselves. They express increased energy and satisfaction in their relationships. They are better able to set boundaries and use tools to support themselves when challenges arise.

Working with Pre-teens and Teens

I help teens who struggle with past trauma, anxiety, self-esteem challenges, relationship difficulties, disruptive behaviors, parent-child conflict, and mood challenges. Parents usually connect with me when they are feeling overwhelmed and uncertain on how to best support their teen’s current struggles.

I help teens and parents mend the gaps that seem to prevent them from understanding themselves and each other. We will discuss where the lapses in communication are and work to develop respectful, open dialogue. A focus will be on how to communicate needs and expectations. It takes practice and work, but I can assure you it is time worth investing. Your teen will learn how to better manage their emotions, live in the present, understand their feelings, and discover their interests and strengths through the use of evidence-based approaches and tools.

Following our work, parents and teens report improvement in navigating conflict, managing emotions, and knowing how to implement healthy boundaries to support the growth and trust within their relationship.

How I got Here

My interest in the field of counseling was long discovered before I knew there was a career that matched my interests. From an early age, I was eager to learn from others, listen to their stories and understand how they developed their ideas, interests, and perspectives. It wasn’t until my late teens that I discovered psychology and philosophy, and later made a decision to pursue my masters in clinical mental health counseling.

From an early age, I was eager to learn from others, listen to their stories and understand how they developed their beliefs, interests, and perspectives. It wasn’t until my late teens that I discovered psychology and philosophy. This interest developed with time and led to my decision to pursue my masters in clinical mental health counseling.

My early clinical experiences helped me discover my passion for working with trauma, anxiety and depression. I have a special interest in working with teens, college-aged adults, parenting, and mothers. I have experience working in skilled nursing facilities, inpatient behavioral health facilities, a university counseling center, Preferred Family health care, and in private practice. These various experiences provided a wealth of knowledge and perspective.

I’ve helped countless clients walk through their traumatic experiences and witnessed the beauty that comes with healing. I love helping people develop healthy rhythms and understand how to navigate relationships and communication more effectively. It is an honor to enter into the sacred space of healing with others, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be doing the work I love.

Outside the Office

I am a California native and lover of the outdoors. I enjoy hiking, strength-training, yoga, paddle-boarding, going to the beach, and spending quality time with my family and friends. I am an adventurer by nature, and love trying new things that push me outside of my comfort zone.

My family and close relationships are incredibly important to me. I’ve found that balancing life and relationships as a working mother is filled with joy and new challenges. I am learning to see the beauty within the ever-changing seasons of motherhood and marriage.

In my free time, which feels limited these days, you can find me reading a good book paired with a coffee. I also enjoy gardening and learning to build a more sustainable lifestyle in my home.
