Training Program Overview

Our training programs emphasize the developmental and family contexts of psychopathology and the use of empirically validated assessments and interventions. Trainees will gain comprehensive experience in diagnosis, assessment, case conceptualization, and intervention with a wide range of behavioral, neurodevelopmental, and psychological difficulties. 

This training experience features a graduated, progressive curriculum, enabling trainees to advance from exposure to expertise. You’ll refine your assessment and diagnostic skills while receiving robust support in developing a solid professional identity as a clinician.

Postdoctoral Program Highlights

  • Supervision & Consultation: Weekly individual supervision with two experienced training psychologists, focusing on assessment and therapy. You’ll also participate in weekly didactics, testing consultation groups, and peer consultation groups. 
  • Evaluation Experience: Exposure to a variety of evaluations, including diagnostic, psychoeducational, and developmental assessments for clients from infancy through adulthood. 
  • Autism Assessment Training: Training in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale (ADOS) and other specialized measures is included. 
  •  Professional Development: Opportunities to provide training and supervision to students and associates, as well as participation in program development efforts, are available to interested fellows. 

Postdoctoral Fellowship Requirements

  • Strong foundational assessment skills. 
  • Completion of an accredited Ph.D. or Psy.D. program in professional psychology.
  • Completion of a full-time accredited psychology internship. 
  • Prior experience in child or teen psychology.
  • Licensed or license-eligible as a Licensed Psychologist with Provisional Status in Texas
  • Ability to be employed in the U.S.

Doctoral Practicum Positions

Who Should Apply?

Our practicum positions are available to 3rd, 4th, and 5th-year doctoral students enrolled in accredited programs in counseling, clinical, or school psychology. We are seeking students who are eager to gain experience working with children, teens, and families and who value a holistic, family-centered approach to treatment.

What We Offer

  • Comprehensive Assessment Training: Students have the opportunity to administer neuropsychological assessments to children and adults, gaining valuable experience in conducting comprehensive evaluations. Practicum students will refine their diagnostic skills while receiving robust supervision and feedback from experienced clinicians.
  • Diverse Clinical Experience: Practicum students are exposed to a broad range of presenting issues, including ADHD, anxiety, autism, depression, behavioral issues, family conflict, and trauma. This diverse client base ensures a rich and varied learning experience.
  • Therapy & Group Work: Practicum students can provide individual therapy, as well as lead or co-lead therapeutic groups under supervision. This allows you to practice and build confidence in a variety of therapeutic modalities, with a focus on developing strong foundational skills. 
  • Training in Evidence-Based Practices: We emphasize the use of evidence-based interventions, and practicum students have the opportunity to receive specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other therapeutic approaches. 
  • Collaborative & Supportive Learning Environment: Be part of a team that values growth and collaboration. Practicum students can participate in weekly didactic trainings, case consultations, and clinical supervision. You’ll receive individualized feedback and support, with a focus on strengthening your clinical skills and professional identity.
